Chinese firms to buy more Europe-made goodsPublished: 17 Feb 2009 00:00:00 PSTFeb. 17, 2009 (China Knowledge) – China is in the process of sending domestic companies to purchase goods from Europe at the end of this month, the China Daily reported, citing Yao Jian, spokesman of the Ministry of Commerce (MOC), as saying.According to Yao, the Chinese government will dispatch a delegation of buyers to Switzerland, Germany, UK and Spain to purchase hi-tech equipments and environmental protection products. China will focus on equipment and machinery that support its RMB 4 trillion stimulus package, especially the equipment for building inter-city railroads as part of the government’s infrastructure spending plan. The move is expected to enhance the bilateral trade ties between China and Europe amid the deepening economic recession worldwide, sources said.European countries, such as Germany and Switzerland, have considered China as their export destination in heavy machinery for years.
